ACCOLADES
Dr. Hass is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended Cornell University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. He then received his M.D. from Weill Medical College of Cornell University. From there, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Hass joined the Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship.
Dr. Hass joined Gastroenterology Center of Connecticut in 2007 and served for the past nine years as Medical Director for the Endoscopy Center of Connecticut, LLC. He most recently was named to the position of Director of Endoscopy at the Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus. In addition, he is very active in physician advocacy work both regionally and nationally, having served as president of the New Haven County Medical Association and is currently serving on the Connecticut State Medical Society State Council. His special interests include disorders of the small bowel, liver and biliary tract disease, disorders of the pancreas, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Hass is also a certified hypnotherapist and has a strong interest, as well, in complementary and alternative therapies in the treatment of gastrointestinal and hepatic diseases.

This volume provides a comprehensive introduction and review of small bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE). The book reviews the data regarding appropriate indications and contraindications for the implementation of small bowel capsule endoscopy, while discussing in detail the evolving role of SBCE in the treatment of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, and the management of inflammatory bowel disease, small bowel polyposis syndromes, and refractory malabsorption.
